Summary

In Metro City, a city floating in the sky, the scientist Tenma builds, in the image of his son Toby, killed in an accident, a state-of-the-art robot with his looks and memories, powered by the « Blue Core », the energy developed by his colleague Ochanomizu. But Tenma realises that a robot will never replace his son and casts him out. Stranded on the surface among discarded robots, the boy meets human children and takes the name Astro. President Stone, who wants to turn the Blue Core into a weapon, has him hunted down [1].

An American and Hong Kong computer-animated film, made for the eightieth anniversary of Tezuka’s birth [1].
